Getting Started with Boo

Boo lives in Slack and Microsoft Teams as a teammate. Once installed, anyone in your workspace can mention @Boo in any channel or send a direct message.

Install in Slack

  1. Add to Slack — A workspace admin clicks "Add to Slack" from the Boo dashboard or Slack App Directory
  2. Authorize permissions — Review and approve the scopes Boo requests (reading messages where mentioned, posting replies, accessing shared files)
  3. Invite to channels — Add @Boo to channels with /invite @Boo. Boo can only see messages in channels it's been invited to
  4. Start talking — Ask a question, give it a task, or just say hi

Requires workspace admin permissions. Contact hello@boolab.ai if you need help.

Install in Microsoft Teams

  1. Request the app package — Contact hello@boolab.ai for the Teams app manifest
  2. Upload to your org — A Teams admin uploads the package via the Teams Admin Center
  3. Set permissions — Create an app permission policy so your team can find and install Boo
  4. Start talking — Same as Slack — mention Boo, ask a question, hand it a task

Connect Your Tools

Boo gets dramatically better with each integration. Available connectors:

  • Slack, Microsoft Teams
  • Linear, Jira
  • Notion, Google Drive
  • GitHub
  • Salesforce

Check your dashboard for the current list. Each connection makes every answer smarter — not just for you, but for everyone on the team.

Tips

  • Be specific — "Summarize yesterday's #eng-standup" works better than "What's going on?"
  • Connect your tools — Each integration makes Boo exponentially more useful
  • Correct mistakes out loud — If Boo gets something wrong, tell it. It learns from corrections
  • Start wherever feels right — There's no required order for integrations

Managing Access

  • Team access: Settings → Team access in the dashboard
  • Channel restrictions: Restrict Boo to specific channels or user groups
  • Revoke integrations: Remove any connected tool at any time from the dashboard
  • Billing: Settings → Billing for plan changes
